At dawn in the mountains of Sudan, a mother gathers her children close. She does not know if today will bring food or more danger.
They are surrounded.
Armed groups press in from both sides. There is no safe way out. For families like hers, survival is not a plan for the future. It is a question they have to answer again every morning.
Since war erupted in April 2023, more than one million people have fled into regions like this, searching for refuge. Many arrive with nothing. No food. No supplies. No idea what comes next.
The most vulnerable feel it first.
Widows. Pregnant mothers. Infants already weakened by hunger. Families living in crowded camps where even basic necessities are hard to find. In some places, help cannot reach them at all. The road into camp is so dangerous that few are willing to try.

But local believers are still going.
They carry sacks of sorghum and groundnuts. They bring blankets, soap, and life-saving nutrition for children. And, equipped by your gifts, they keep coming back for families the world cannot reach.
For these families, one delivery changes everything. It means food for the next two months. Clean water. Strength to keep going.
And it means they are not forgotten.
Across Sudan, the crisis continues to grow. More than 12 million people have been displaced by the conflict, creating one of the most severe hunger crises in the world.
In some cities, families who have fled the violence now face overcrowding, rising food prices, and scarce clean water. Even drinking water must be treated before it can be used.
And still, the Church is there.

Local believers share what they have. They bring food, distribute aid, and help create access to clean water so families can endure not just today, but in the days ahead.
This effort is reaching 500 of the most vulnerable families, providing food, care, and ongoing support in a place few are willing to go.
This is what your generosity makes possible:
- You help carry food into hard-to-reach places.
- You help a mother keep her children fed another day.
- You help bring clean water to families surrounded by conflict.
Most importantly, you help compassion open the door for the gospel.
August 23 is Global Hunger Sunday.
This is your chance to help mothers and children access the nourishment and hope they need. Your gift equips local churches to meet urgent needs and share lasting hope through simple, powerful acts of compassion.
Give help and hope today.
